CC Beauty Subscription Box Review by Alisha Emmaleene

So last Monday I received the November CC Beauty box. CC Beauty box costs £29.99, free postage with this box and has a value of around £100 or more. All items are full size and are more higher end brands, you get between 4-5 depending on what the items are. Previous boxes have seen brands such as Too Faced, Chanel, Nars, Benefit and more high end and more luxurious brands at a much discounted price.

When receiving the parcel, inside the cardboard outer packaging was a jet black sleek looking box with a lifting lid. On the front was a CC Beauty card, and a sticker closing the lid flap at the bottom. I really liked that the lid opened rather than lifted as it felt much more like a present!

In this months CC Beauty box there was:
Too Faced Selfie powder palette £32

IMAN Cote D'Azur Collection palette £22.90

Elizabeth Arden blender sponge brush £12
Nars liner/brow brush (Can't find a price, looks like old packaging but current ones retail around £24/£25)

I was really happy to have the Too Faced palette as it was something I'd been wanting to try, and having not tried anything yet from IMAN I was excited for this too. It was great that we had two palettes as it meant there was really a whole face worth of products to try, your base in one and eyes, cheeks and lips in the other plus your tools.

The Too Faced palette is named No Filter selfie powders. There's a pale yellow powder to give warmth and reduce redness, a cool brown for bronzing and a pale yellow for a subtle highlight or 'Etheral' effect. They're all lightly shimmery, with the highlighter of course more intense shimmer. They're all also fairly subtle and quite sheer so depending on the effect you want you can build up layers. Being shimmery when using them all you have an all over shimmer which isn't for everyone, but you can use them all over or just where needed for a more natural glow. You can see from the first picture below I've got quite red cheeks, the left side I've used the powders and the other side I haven't so you can definitely notice the difference. The next picture shows all three powders being used on myself.

In the IMAN palette we have 2 lipsticks, 2 lipgloss, 4 eyeshadows, a blusher and cream bronzer. The lipsticks are quite sheer so give the same effect as the lipgloss but a slightly different texture, however they can be layered for fuller colour. The blusher is a mixture of colours which gives a nice pink glow with a hint of warmth. The cream bronzer is super soft and blends out really well, both the bronzer and blusher are slightly shimmery. The shadows are shades of blue/purples with are lovely and soft, again shimmery. This palette is described to be for 'African American, Asian, Latina and multi-cultural' women so therefore the shades may not suit some skin tones, personally some are not my colours but I think the bronzer is the only one I wouldn't eat because of my skin tone. However I think they're all good quality and there are mini brushes to be used for all so it would be great for travelling. Photos show the red lipstick, purple gloss and the second shows brown lipstick on the bottom and gold glitter gloss on the top. Eyeshadows swatched on my hand in the order of the palette.

I have the Elizabeth Arden brush already myself, it has a lovely clear handle with a gold top with the logo and a fairly firm sponge. I like this brush for applying foundation as being quite firm it applies well without soaking up lots of the product. I find it doesn't blend as well as softer sponges so I tend to use another blender sponge to blend everything out. With it having a handle I think it's particularly good for those that apply make up while travelling as it reduces the mess!

This Nars brush could be used for liner or applying brow products with its angled slim shape. Like other Nars products the handle of the brush has a lovely smooth finish that makes grasping it easier, it feels like a non slip type of surface. The bristles are quite firm so are good for precise application.

Overall I think this box is amazing value and a really great one to have. Having looked at other boxes from previous months it looks like the standard is pretty good all round with some really great products and brands featured. The CC Beauty box is still currently available to buy for the next 4 days so be quick. My discount code with give 10% off but it limited to the first 30 subscribers!
